I'm an advocate for social change and living testimony to its benefits.

My life changed radically at 10 years old when I was selected to participate in a radical program, where I was given a spot at a boarding school, instead of being placed in foster care.

This opened up life-changing opportunities for me — from graduating from a top university to speaking at the House of Lords — at a point in my life when things could have easily gone the opposite way.

For this reason I'm determined to open as many doors for young people like myself as I can, and my proposed initiative, Community-Focused Boarding Schools, is how I'm going to do it.
